Fun at Aunt Shawnette & Uncle Charley's

We went to Shawnette & Charley's last Sunday for a family lunch and Maddi was of course the center of attention. She enjoyed playing outside and having all of the great food. She had her 15 month check up yesterday and everything is great. She now weighs 23 1/2 lbs. and is 30 7/8 inches tall. Her weight and height stay in the 50th percentile while her head circumference remains "above average". The doctor says some of us just have big brains!
Posing with my Aunt Net This game looks like fun - why can't I play?
But I wanna go back outside, Mom!
I am just so busy that sometimes I have to work and drive at the same time

Just Messin' Around

Maddi's personality continues to show through every day so I thought we would share some of her silly moments with you all. She is continuing to love to go to Miss Lisa's every day; there is a new boy there who is just a couple of months older than Maddi and they seem to enjoy each other a lot. She is learning new words - mama, dada, thank you, juice, shoes (which sound very much alike but we can tell which one she is referrring to!), puppy, bye bye, but of course the pointing and grunting are pretty effective in getting her what she wants. She loves playing with her puzzles and looking at books and dancing to Beyonce is always a favorite!
My future's so bright - I gotta wear shades! Sprinkler fun In the car I like to try and eat my toes!
Fish face
I find it easier to help Mom with the laundry if I sit in the basket with the clothes

Vacation!

Sorry it's taken me a while to update. We had a great vacation at the Lake of the Ozarks with the Gray family even though the weather was a little gloomy at times. The only major set back was that Chris & I somehow forgot Baby Tad (one of the most important items in Maddi's World - she sleeps with him every night). After being up until 12:30 the first night, we decided a trip to Target was a definite need the next afternoon. Maddi enjoyed running around the pool and making us all nervous and Grady's John Deere steering wheel sure was a big hit. She very much enjoyed pushing the music button and entertaining Grandpa Bill & Grandma Elaine with her cool dance moves. Huge thanks to Sarah Farley whom Maddi buddied up with for most of the trip - we really appreciate your patience! We did some shopping, some boating, and a lot of just relaxing. It was so nice to see everyone and we will see several of you again in just a few weeks!
Boating sure makes me sleepy Grady and I spent some time at this table making some important phone calls. Just relaxin in my floatie
Thanks for the t-shirt Aunt Carla!

We Moved!!!

July 18th (Saturday), as soon as the shops closed up we started moving to our new place and were ready to open up Monday morning. It was a long weekend but so worth it. We are very excited to be in our new building.

Happy Birthday Mylee

Cousin Mylee's 1st birthday party was Sunday. Maddi wasn't quite as interested in Mylee's gifts as she was in Brooke's because this party was outside (Maddi's absolute favorite place to be) so we just spent a lot of time playing in the grass.
Thank you to these nice girls who let me think I was playing with them!
I like to go up the slide........
.......and down the steps.

Drywall

We have walls!!! All of the inspections so far have passed on the first time. Everything is ahead of schedule so Karl is planning on moving the flower shop the weekend of July 18 (yes, this means as soon as we get back from the lake we are headed straight to work). We have a tuxedo convention in Nashville July 27-30 so the weekend after we should be able to move the bridal store. Very exciting!!!
Entry ways that were cut out in the front of the store Main show room for bridal gowns - yes, that is Karl in the wheelchair, he threw his back out over the weekend but just can't stay out of the building

Happy Father's Day & Outside Fun

Hope all the Daddy's out there had a great Father's Day! We had a nice day with Grandma Sharon & Grandpa Randy, Aunt Shawnette & Uncle Charley, and Uncle Carl. They all came to our house and I got to eat pizza!!! Yum Yum Yum
Practicing my handwriting skills The pool is cool and all, but really I'd rather splash around from the outside, run around the yard, splash around from the outside, run around the yard, splash around.... you get where I'm going with this
Sharing my sidewalk chalk with Aunt Shawnette
This is Baby Charlie - Mommy's friend Lindsey's baby - isn't she cuuuute? I can't wait to play with her when she is bigger.

Week 2

We are into week 2 now on the building remodel and things seem to be going very well. As far as I know, all of the frame work on the ground level is finished and a lot of the floor work for the 2nd level is in place. The heating & air and plumbing crews are there this week with an expected finish time of late Wednesday afternoon. Then come some inspections - everyone cross your fingers for us! I know it's hard to see in some of these pictures what everything is - I sometimes have a hard time myself when I'm inside the building. But I'll do my best to explain.
Bridal dressing rooms - far right is the entrance and four rooms are inside. The front entryways have been cut out - far left is entrance to the floral design area, middle is tuxedo dressing rooms and alterations, and right is entrance to the bridal gown, bridesmaids, etc... space
A bathroom is on each side - going back to tuxedo dressing rooms and alterations
